Rule of Thirds and 180 Degree Rule


Rule of thirds

This image which demonstrates the rule of thirds, shows that the points in which the lines cross are where the subject of a image or film clip should be based, also when people are in the shot, their eyes should be on the same line as the top line.




180 degree rule

This is the rule in film for when you are filming something, it’s so you always film on the same side so that the scene isn’t confused. So for example when people are having a conversation if you change the side you film on they can appear to be on a different side which can appear very confusing for the audience. Here This picture demonstrates how you should film and how you shouldn’t.
